SocietyFormer CIA officer pleads guilty in nearly $200 million gold bar fraud case

David Rush, a former CIA officer arrested after authorities found about $40 million in gold bars at his Virginia home, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to one count of wire fraud. He admitted defrauding the U.S. government of nearly $200 million for his own benefit. Prosecutors had described him as a “master manipulator.”
