Death-row inmate Christa Pike is “conscious and speaking” after surviving a failed execution attempt in Tennessee last week, her lawyers say. The 50-year-old remains in critical care at a Nashville hospital while handcuffed. She was sentenced to death after being convicted of murdering Colleen Slemmer in 1995.
