The euro has dropped to a 17-month low against the US dollar as concerns grow over France’s ability to restore order to its public finances. It is down nearly 7% from its late-January peak. Global oil prices also fell after the G7 agreed to release up to 100 million barrels from strategic reserves and Persian Gulf flows returned to pre-war levels.
