The 2026 Nobel Prize in Medicine has gone to American Karl Deisseroth and Germans Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel for discoveries involving light and optogenetics. The Nobel Assembly at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute said laboratories worldwide use their work to uncover the brain’s mysteries.
