> Nearly 400 high schools across France were closed Friday as students continued a week-long protest over poor school conditions, including overheated classrooms and teacher shortages. Clashes with police have led to about 2,000 arrests, while some students blocked school entrances. Protesters near Paris also denounced what they described as police violence.
