SocietyAP reporter describes Christa Pike’s failed execution in Tennessee

Christa Gail Pike, 50, was scheduled to be executed in Tennessee at 10 a.m. Wednesday for a killing committed when she was 18. Officials administered two doses of a lethal drug but were unable to complete the execution, and Pike was taken from the prison by ambulance, according to her attorneys. She would have been Tennessee’s first woman executed in more than 200 years.
