# Five arrested near RAF Fairford over suspected terrorist act preparations

> Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford in southwest England on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act. Police initially detained them over suspected explosives offences after a report of three suspicious vehicles apparently heading toward the air base. Counterterrorism officers are leading the inquiry, while army bomb-disposal specialists examine the vehicles and about 85 households have been advised to evacuate.
