PoliticsSpain’s PM says it is ‘time for a woman’ to become UN secretary general

Speaking at the UN general assembly, Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, argued that the next secretary general should be a woman from Latin America. He noted that nine men have held the post during the organisation’s 80-year history and said the next UN chief is expected to be selected later this year.
