Culture'Death of the Soccer God' pays homage to Haitian diaspora and those who go back and do their best

Journalist and author Dimitry Elias Léger’s “Death of the Soccer God” begins with the largely forgotten story of Haitian-born Joe Gaetjens scoring the goal that gave the United States its famous 1950 World Cup victory over England.
