> ProPublica reports that federal anti-corruption agents were developing a bribery case involving Sen. Susan Collins and a major defense donor. Investigators were examining whether millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded naval contracts were exchanged for illegal campaign contributions. The probe was abruptly halted after a Trump administration shake-up gutted the FBI unit leading it. Collins’ campaign strongly denied the allegations, calling them completely false.
