WorldGuterres delivers final UNGA address, calls for reforms to global institutions

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres used his final address to the 81st UN General Assembly session to warn that global divisions are widening and urge fundamental reform of international institutions. He highlighted peace, inequality, the climate emergency and artificial intelligence as four major challenges, while condemning the “onslaught” in Gaza, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and what he called a “war on civilians” in Sudan.
