Donald Trump’s first meeting with a foreign leader on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly was with French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron described talks focused on Ukraine and the Middle East as “quite constructive”. He has been urging Trump to adopt a tougher position toward Vladimir Putin and back Ukraine’s sovereignty.
