PoliticsTaiwan’s allies again urge meaningful participation in UN system amid rising Strait pressure

Ahead of next week’s 81st UN General Debate in New York, the permanent representatives of Palau, the Marshall Islands, Saint Lucia, Belize and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines jointly wrote to Secretary-General António Guterres, urging an appropriate way for Taiwan to participate meaningfully in the UN system. Palau’s Ilana Seid said pressure was building in the Taiwan Strait and should be eased through dialogue and inclusion to prevent a wider conflict.
