WorldUS approves $24.3 billion F-35 sale to Saudi Arabia

The United States has approved the sale of 48 F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia for $24.3 billion, the State Department said Thursday. The deal is the kingdom’s latest major arms purchase since the Iran war began. Saudi Arabia has faced repeated drone and missile strikes from Iranian forces, as well as attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
