SocietyCameroon civil society groups take on gender-based violence

August 2026 was especially tragic for women in Cameroon, with eight femicide cases recorded in eight days. The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family says roughly 60 cases have been recorded since the beginning of the year. Associations are providing families with legal and psychological support, as domestic-violence complaints rarely lead to convictions.
