Buckingham Palace rejected allegations about King Charles in a new memoir by Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer. The Daily Mail reported a claim that Charles told Spencer after Diana’s death in 1997, “We’ll forget her soon enough.” The Palace said the King is mindful that grief over a sibling’s death can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory.
