TechCanada to invest $150M in AI non-profit startup alongside Germany

On Wednesday, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Minister Evan Solomon announced that Canada will put $150 million into LawZero, a nonprofit startup developing AI safeguards. Germany will contribute €100 million, or C$160.4 million. The announcement followed by days a dire warning from an Anthropic researcher leaving the company that AI could “kill all humans” by the end of the decade.
