PoliticsEU Proposes Canada Become First ‘Associate Member’

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed that Canada become the European Union’s first associate member. During her state of the union address in Strasbourg, France, she said she wanted to work with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to open that door for Canada.
