SportsSenate takes first step toward overhauling college sports

The Senate voted 74-24 on Tuesday to advance the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act toward a full Senate vote. The bill would create a federal framework for athlete compensation, name, image and likeness deals, transfers and eligibility, replacing the different state rules now governing college athletics.
