TechHudson Institute researcher: US-China summit may address AI guardrails

Ahead of the US-China summit, President Trump reiterated that the United States leads China in AI. Hudson Institute senior researcher Hsu Yu-jen said Trump may express displeasure to Xi Jinping over allegations that China uses distillation to steal America’s frontier models. The two sides may also discuss safeguards against AI runaway behavior, including automatic shutdowns when systems cross red lines. Hsu also proposed a trusted AI mechanism between the US and Taiwan.
