> The Himalayan flash flood that devastated northern Nepal on August 26 is being described as an unprecedented disaster. Nearly 1,400 deaths have been confirmed and 5,130 people remain missing, including about 600 foreign nationals from 35 countries. Kathmandu is now seeking compensation for climate-change losses and damage, rather than only emergency aid.
