SciencePortugal’s European Green Capital works to make climate extremes more comfortable

Guimarães, Portugal’s current European Green Capital, is the second Portuguese city to receive the annual honor after Lisbon. The city’s recognition follows more than a decade of efforts to create green corridors, restore rivers and reduce waste as it confronts climate extremes.
