Michael Duffey, the under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment, says AI has tremendous potential for the department but that funding is essential to rebuild the defense industrial base. The Pentagon is seeking higher production of critical munitions, including Patriot, Tomahawk and Standard missiles, while longer-term contracts could encourage companies to expand capacity.
