WorldSudanese engineer leaves Uganda to help rebuild his war-torn country

Engineer Jamal Mubarak fled Khartoum, travelled through Al-Jazira and crossed into South Sudan before reaching Uganda by land. Although Uganda gave him safety and became a second home, he could not find work despite 34 years of engineering experience. He now hopes to return to Sudan, help rebuild the country and support his children’s education.
