ScienceIndia steps up space ambitions, eyes crewed missions and space station

India is advancing its space programme toward independently sending astronauts into orbit, while also pursuing a future space station and crewed lunar missions. The Gaganyaan programme aims to conduct its first uncrewed orbital mission in the final quarter of this year, followed by a planned first crewed flight in 2027.
