Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband told Parliament that the UK would ban imports from Israeli settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank. He said the government agrees that ethnic cleansing is taking place in parts of the West Bank and accused Israel’s government of turning a “blind eye”. Israel responded by closing the British consulate in Jerusalem and barring 11 left-wing MPs from entering the country.
