Singapore’s government has accepted the independent committee’s recommendations on political salaries, but will not move to the proposed levels in a single step. The annual MR4 benchmark for ministers will rise from S$1.1 million to S$1.8 million, with an up-to-9% one-off adjustment from Oct 15, amounting to about S$1.2 million if fully applied. Later changes will depend on individual performance and responsibilities.
