> Thousands gathered in Belgrade for the funeral of Bosnian Serb war criminal Ratko Mladic despite EU warnings. Serbian ministers attended after earlier assurances that no serving officials would be present; his coffin was draped in the national flag and his medals displayed. The EU said glorifying convicted war criminals has “no place” in the bloc or candidate countries.
