SocietyCARE Nepal urges safe shelter and long-term recovery for flood survivors

Search and rescue operations are still under way 11 days after a flash flood hit Nepal’s Himalayan region. Authorities say thousands remain in temporary shelters as the full human toll emerges. CARE Nepal director Mona Sherpa says survivors urgently need food, housing and healthcare, and must not be sent back to areas at continued risk of flooding and landslides.
