The US is dealing with recalls involving fruit, vegetables and meat as food contamination outbreaks make more people ill while food-safety jobs are cut. Revolution Farms, Michigan’s largest lettuce producer, saw sales fall after the state was hit by the largest lettuce-linked cyclosporiasis outbreak tied to Mexico, with more than 14,000 cases, nearly 400 hospitalisations and two deaths reported.
