SocietySMU survey finds public cleanliness satisfaction falls to 91%

A Singapore Management University survey of more than 2,000 residents found satisfaction with public cleanliness fell from 94% in 2023 to 91% in 2025, its lowest level since 2018. Neighbourhood spaces saw the sharpest decline, while food outlets remained the lowest-rated category at 82.4%. About 5,300 littering fines were issued in the first half of 2026.
