> Thailand has suspended construction of 49 data centres over risks to surrounding communities. Demand is surging with the AI boom, but energy-intensive facilities are appearing in Bangkok residential areas, raising safety and environmental concerns. Some are classified as warehouses or offices, allowing them to avoid tougher industrial safety, environmental and zoning rules.
