> The destruction from a rock-and-ice avalanche in the Himalayas a week ago is worsening by the day. Landslides triggered floods that swept away villages, roads, bridges, homes and livelihoods, while rescue teams have recovered more than 1,000 bodies from the mud. Northern Nepal’s Rasuwa district is the worst-hit area.
