WorldHope of finding survivors in Nepal-Tibet disaster is decreasing

A week after a glacier collapse caused catastrophic flooding across Nepal and Tibet, the death toll is rising and rescue teams are stretched to the limit. Nepal’s Emergency Operations Centre says hope remains, but the chances of finding survivors are diminishing. At least 1,100 people have died and nearly 4,000 are unaccounted for in Nepal, while Chinese state media reports 16 deaths and about 500 missing in Tibet. Access to parts of the disaster zone is improving.
