> The US and Iran exchanged strikes after American forces hit two rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. It was the first known US attack on Iran since Donald Trump paused a renewed military campaign in late July. Iran said it struck US bases in Jordan, where the army reported intercepting eight missiles early Monday.
