WorldUS and Iran trade strikes for first time in weeks

The US and Iran have exchanged strikes after American forces hit two rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the first known US attack on Iran since late July killed two people and wounded two others, while vowing retaliation. US Central Command described its action as limited and precise, targeting minelaying forces it said posed an imminent threat in the strait.
