WorldIran launches strikes on Jordan after US attacks island in Hormuz

Iran launched strikes on Jordan after the United States attacked an Iranian island in the Strait of Hormuz. The US action was its first strike on Iran in about a month, after the Trump administration shifted its war aim toward imposing maximum economic pain on Tehran. Washington said the strikes sought to stop Iranian forces from disrupting global shipping through the strait.
