> Nepal’s national disaster agency said 579 people had died and 1,924 were missing, including 517 foreign nationals. Rescue operations have resumed in flood-devastated areas after a pause over fears that a barrier lake could trigger another deluge. China’s first professional rescue team reached the hardest-hit Gyirong port.
