> Catastrophic flash floods struck China and Nepal on Wednesday, killing more than 270 people and leaving over 1,300 missing, including at least 700 foreigners. Scientists are still determining the precise cause; the US Geological Survey cited a possible glacial collapse and landslide. Floodwaters submerged villages and destroyed bridges.
