Flash floods that hit the Himalayan border region of Nepal and China’s Tibet on Wednesday have killed at least 165 people. The US Geological Survey said the tremor initially thought to be an earthquake was actually seismic energy produced by collapsing glacial rock and ice, followed by a debris flow.
