WorldNepal flash floods surge through villages as Trishuli River destroys homes

Major flash floods in Nepal have killed at least eight people as the Trishuli River surged through Himalayan districts near the border. Police and social media videos showed muddy torrents tearing through mountain villages and destroying homes. Prime Minister Balendra Shah called an emergency meeting while authorities assessed the damage. In nearby Tibet, officials feared “major casualties” after a mudslide struck a land crossing.
