PoliticsSingapore must retain its Asian identity to avoid becoming monolingual, says PM Wong

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says Singapore must not become a monolingual society. Speaking in Mandarin at the National Day Rally, he noted that more Chinese households are using English at home, while only about a third use Mandarin. He called for schools, families and society to work together to keep young people bilingual.
