WorldThe Suez Crisis ended the British Empire. Will Hormuz defeat the US?

The episode revisits the 1956 Suez Crisis, when Egypt shut the canal, confronted three armies and brought global oil shipping to a halt. After the canal reopened months later under Egyptian control, the region and global economy were transformed. The programme compares that episode with the prospect of a crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.
