ScienceNASA conducts total solar eclipse research in Iceland

Iceland recently became one of the few places on Earth to experience a total solar eclipse, its first visible there since 1999. NASA used the rare opportunity for airborne observations of the eclipse’s effects on the Sun and Earth’s atmosphere. The activity was also part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
