ScienceSingapore trial targets halving energy used in seawater pre-treatment

A trial in Tuas is testing an alternative method of preparing seawater before desalination, potentially cutting energy use at that stage by half. Singapore’s national water agency PUB says the technology could eventually be used across the country’s desalination plants if it proves reliable and cost-effective.
