TechMeta faces US trial over online child safety

The first trial from a lawsuit brought by 30 US states against Meta began Tuesday. The states allege that the company violated numerous federal and state privacy laws protecting children, seek more than $1 trillion in damages and demand sweeping changes to apps including Facebook and Instagram.
