In Ruteng, one of the areas hardest hit by Indonesia’s powerful earthquake, a badly damaged hospital is treating nearly 200 patients in tents set up in a car park. Survivors recount being trapped under debris and losing relatives and homes, while doctors face shortages of medicine, equipment and staff. Villagers say government aid has yet to arrive and many are sleeping under makeshift plastic shelters.
