> The drive-by shooting that killed rap superstar Tupac Shakur on 7 September 1996 reshaped hip-hop and helped turn him into a cultural icon. The murder remained one of popular culture’s major mysteries, with many theories but no arrest until 2023, when former gang boss Duane “Keffe D” Davis was charged. He is due to stand trial in Las Vegas.
