> A recent earthquake could weigh on Colombia’s economic activity for up to two years, according to an analysis. President Abelardo de la Espriella has declared an economic emergency and promised a rebuilding fund for schools, hospitals and homes. Reconstruction is estimated at about $9.6bn, amid a deficit of 7 to 8 percent of GDP. He has also asked Donald Trump to suspend tariffs that rose from 10 to 12.5 percent.
