WorldHawaii’s Big Island braces for first direct hurricane hit in 155 years

Hurricane Lala is heading toward Hawaii’s Big Island and could be the first hurricane-strength storm to make a direct landfall there since 1871. Strong winds and heavy rain have already damaged areas and cut power to thousands. Evacuations are underway amid warnings of severe flooding, landslides and coastal erosion.
